ShĆgun Resurrection
A forbidden past. A rising threat. A nation on the brink of isolationâŠ
In the 17th century, the Tokugawa Shogunate sealed Japan's borders from the world - foreigners were banned, Japanese were forbidden to travel, and trade was limited to a single artificial island, Dejima, off the coast of Nagasaki. For over two centuries, the nation remained hidden⊠until U.S. gunboats forced it open in 1854.
Now, in the present day, Sam Reilly and his wife Amira arrive in NikkĆ for a quiet escape. It's their first time in Japan - and they've chosen to enjoy a peaceful babymoon in a land steeped in history.
But peace is short-lived.
Renjiro Tokuda, a direct descendant of the last shogun, has set in motion a centuries-old plan passed down in secret - one that seeks to restore Japan's isolation at any cost. Behind his cries of honor lies the opening move of a violent coup.
Cut off and hunted in a foreign land, Sam will stop at nothing to protect Amira and get them both out alive - even if it means unleashing an ancient defense he once swore to destroy.
But when the path to escape becomes clear, Sam realizes the price - only one of them will ever leave Japan alive.
